October 2016 Newsletter

Many of our members played in the 2016 Naples Regional. Ed Kemnitzer was the biggest winner of the club with a total of 20.1 mp. Judie Nevai and Joyce Ling came in first in their 16 table Wednesday/Thursday Knockout team game and won 11.82 gold points! Carolyn Atkins won over 10 mp in various games. Bob Hudson and Richard Price won 7.19 mp in the 299’er games. They made the winners circle three times! New members Patrick & Patricia Knipper came away with 7.34. Carol Senter, another of our newer members and her partner, Carol Rosen came in 1, 1, 1 in one of the 299’er games and came away with 3.68 gold points! Nan Burford, Bob Parlin, Nancy Braverman, Virginia Lifton, Marilyn Harklau, DeAnn Shawkey, Marcia Reff, Joan Coval, Peggy Kehoe, George & Trisha Bernstein, Sonia Conklin, Iris Minnor, Cathy Mayer, Marlene MacKinnon, Abe & Jean Brown, Fay & Elliott Myers, Rusty Ruff, & B. Jean Jensen were other winners whose names appear on the “Results” page of the tournament.  Congratulations to one and all. My apologies to anyone I missed. 

 

Special Extra Point Games in October

Club Appreciation Games will be on October 24, 26 and 31.

The Club Championship Game will be on October 28.

 

Bridge Classes

An intermediate level course on Declarer Play Techniques will start on October 10 and will continue every Monday morning 9 AM to 11:30 until Dec. 19. There will be handouts for each lesson and an hour and a half of playing practice.

Please help us publicize these educational opportunities. There will be three ads in the Naples Daily News, but fewer and fewer people read newspapers nowadays. If you have a place to post one of our notices it would be extremely helpful. Fliers are available near the convention cards.

GAME SCHEDULE

Our Monday, Wednesday, and Friday games will continue through the month of October.  We will add Tuesday and Thursdays starting Tuesday, November 1st.

October games are held at 1PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The club resumes its winter schedule of 5 weekday games on November 1st
